Issue 8: When Walking with Intention Means Walking Through Fire

When the road feels uncertain, intention becomes the compass that guides the way.

Seasons That Shape Us

Life has seasons. Some arrive easy, light, and full of joy. Others bring the kind of weight that tests every ounce of your resolve.

I am deep in one of those more challenging seasons. Choosing entrepreneurship means I willingly stepped into the unknown, a space where freedom and fulfillment meet uncertainty and sacrifice.

Finding Strength in Community

Most recently, I was inducted into Goodie Nation's Tap Forward Agency Accelerator program. Before joining, I had my assumptions about what it would be like. But what I experienced went far beyond expectations. The team’s dedication, the talent of my cohort, and the depth of programming reminded me that community can lift you in ways you never anticipate.

One session in particular, Founders Need Therapy Too, opened something inside me. I hadn’t planned to share. I even clicked “maybe” when asked in advance if I would speak. But sitting in that room, hearing raw stories of sacrifice and resilience, I felt moved to lend my own voice. What came out surprised me. It was cathartic, almost like something that had been locked inside finally broke free.

Why Intention Matters Most

Here’s what I keep coming back to: in both life and business, it is not easy to keep walking when things are hard. But that is when intention matters most.

I have worked at companies like The Home Depot and Mailchimp, where I saw firsthand the power of small businesses and what happens when we invest in them. Now, as an entrepreneur, I walk in their shoes and it is a journey that humbles me daily. Running a small business means celebrating the highs, grinding through the in-between, and reinventing yourself when the lows threaten to undo you.

Choosing Community in Uncertain Times

We live in uncertain times. Businesses are pulling back. People are making tough calls. Fear can make us transactional, both at work and at home. And yet, if there is one thing this season has taught me, it is that showing up with intention matters most when everything around you feels uncertain.

That is why I ask you, wherever you are and whatever you do, to support your small businesses. The local coffee shop. The restaurant that always remembers your order. The independent agencies like mine trying to carve out something meaningful. Behind every small business is a person or family choosing, every single day, to keep walking through fire with intention.

If my stories give just one person hope that tomorrow will get better, then this newsletter has done its work. Thank you for continuing to walk this journey with me. Your emails, DMs, text messages, and yes even referrals have meant more than I can ever express.

Prompts for Reflection

  • What season of life are you walking through right now: easy, in-between, or challenging?

  • When was the last time you surprised yourself by speaking up, even when you had not planned to?

  • How do you remind yourself to keep walking with purpose when the road feels heavy?

Let’s Keep This Glow Going

This space is here to help us reconnect with ourselves beneath the noise, the pressure, and the performing.

Because the glow gets brighter when we give ourselves, and each other, permission to live it fully.

Until next time, protect your peace and remember:
You don’t need permission to put yourself first.
You just need to believe you're worth protecting.

With love and light,

P.S.

This is also why I built No Ceiling Collective.

Because it’s not just in our personal lives where we rush, perform, or define success by doing. The same habits show up in how we lead, build, and grow, especially in business.

At No Ceiling Collective, I work with founders, marketers, and teams who are ready to build with intention. Who want strategy rooted in clarity. Who value having a brand rooted in purpose and getting results.
